I would like to thank all of those who made an effort to
attend the quarterly meeting in Brownwood.
Although it was a small crowd, we finalized most of the business concerning the
“Open” Tournament. I have asked that each club in the West Region furnish at
least five members to help with the registration and weigh in. Because of the
recent weights coming off of Lake Ivie
and the number of contestants that have been entering, I feel that this could demand
a lot of work for the volunteers. You never know what the conditions will be,
but we need to be prepared for a large turn out. Each club will have
assignments for their volunteers. We will discuss and conduct a practice weigh
in Friday night at the pavilion. I need as many members as possible present.
Please take a look at how we have proposed the weigh in site to be set up on
this website. All West Region Members are asked to come in and weigh in early. [Times
to be set at Friday Night Meeting] We do not want fish sitting in live wells
while we conduct our weigh in. We will be using two sets of scales, both are
calibrated the same. Jim Brown will handle and conduct the Youth division weigh
in on a separate set of scales, in a designated area. Please take time to read
the rules set for this tournament. There are a few differences in our normal
procedures due to this being open to any angler. We will enforce a 14” minimum,
so that we don’t clog up lines and jeopardize the health of the larger Bass.
Chris Pullig & Barry Bennett will supervise the Hospital Tanks to ensure
all fish are returned healthy. If you have further questions, please feel free
to contact me. Thank you and I will see you at the lake.
