We had our quarterly meeting Aug. 7th. I am in the process of getting all of the information in order to present to you. We have set the date and lake for the Championship. The pairings listed are unofficial at this time because four of the eighteen qualifiers were not present at the meeting. We will wait to see if any drop out due to date conflicts. If someone cannot compete, we will move down in the standings and this will change the pairings. Also you will notice that Sundays pairings are not posted. You will be paired after the Saturday results. This will take place at the Saturday Night Dinner. Starting in 2009, the West Region will try a Double Tournament format per weekend. This was voted in, in an effort to cut travel cost down. We will have three, two tournament weekends and our "Open" tournament. As of right now, these are the lake combinations nominated: Amistad/Amistad, Belton/Stillhouse, Brownwood/Ivie, and the annual "Open" on O.H. Ivie. We will continue nominations of Lake Pairs at the next Quarterly in Del Rio, Oct. 24th, however only three combinations will be finalized for 2009. There are several pros and cons concerning this format, mostly practice issues. We will work out the details and present the schedule at the end of the year meeting.
