Well
we kicked off another season and looks like it will be
just as tough as the last. Amistad greeted the Anglers
with typical winter weather, winds out of the north one
day and out of the south the next. It was not to bad for
this time of the year. Air temps stayed around the sixty
degree mark both days. The water temps stayed around the
fifty six degree mark making for some rather pleasant
fishing. Some anglers found it tough while others loaded
up. Crankbaits and plastics accounted for most of the
stringers. Fish were reported being caught at all
depths. We had a lighter turnout than in the past, but
the economy likely contributed to that. There may have
been fewer but the competitors were some of the best in
the region. Thanks for those of you who chose to fish
with us. I'm looking forward to seeing how the year
goes.
As
for the business side of things, each club needs to
bring a vote when they come to Ivie, on the new proposed
payout for 2012. We are considering upping the
percent on first place and lowering it down in the
field. This will all depend on how your club votes so
talk it over.
We
will also be looking at being a part of the new
Federation State Website. We have been using this site
to get the info out, but we may have a new source. We
keep you posted on what we do. David is looking into it.
New
members, don't forget that Lakes are off limits from
Sunday midnight until Thursday midnight the week prior
to an event unless it is a two day event then it is
Wednesday midnight. Check the rules if you have any
other issues.
Don't forget that at each event weigh in and sign up,
that we raffle off a $100 Academy gift card. The
proceeds help send the qualifiers to the divisional.
Troy Montgomery was the winner this weekend.
Congratulations to all of the winners and hope to see
you at Ivie. Take care and
